Williamsburg NYC

Around the same time we began to work on the Rockefeller Center project, Todd and his team found another amazing New York location, this time in Williamsburg, Brooklyn: the ever so cool neighborhood just over the bridge from Manhattan.

Whilst the exterior looked fortified with the original red-brick façade and oversized windows, the interior space was a bit beat-up looking warehouse with original floors, open, industrial ceilings and exposed brick walls…all of which we collectively loved and celebrated throughout the renovation. We modernized the space with huge single pane glass replacement which enhanced visibility from both inside and out.

Textures were important in this location as we had to blend old and original with new and linear. We achieved this by switching paint tones on the existing brick walls from matte to gloss and incorporating a vintage layer of décor and fixtures. Fabrics were juxtaposed between heavy velvets and camouflage print – a staple of the Todd Snyder brand.

With the open floor plan, we compartmentalized different zones into points of interest throughout the store, such as shoes, vintage, and the Aesop outpost…and of course the cash desk area designed as a retrofitted bar: equipped with stools, a liquor wall, and an adjacent pool table.
