SHOPBOP NYC

We were contacted by ShopBop - the Amazon owned E-commerce site for their first physical pop-up to celebrate the brands 20th anniversary in a 5000 square foot location in Soho, NYC.

The brief was to design an easily tranformative space to host various events and collaborations but most importantly to be a representation of the brand itself - modern, bright and fun.

We worked with all departments - marketing, operations, and merchants to not only design the interior but also assist the teams on the assortment and sku counts; James flew to Madison, Wisconsin a few months before the install to pick and merchandise the shop in a mock store at the ShopBop company warehouse.

The decor was a mix of new pieces and vintage finds; our favorite was the cheetah sculpture which watched over the space perched on its table under the ShopBop logo. Wallpaper was also an important design element; the main room contained a custom foil paper from Calico. We also used our favourite House of Hackney prints in other areas (the Monkey Room was a big hit and James merchandised an entire apparel colour story around the wallpaper.

While we knew that this bright, highly programmed space would be a hit, even we were not prepared for the response…there were lines around the block for days. We also had to send in a member of our team to the store to daily remerchandise the space as things sold out and colour-stories needed to be adjusted.
